IDEAlliance Annouces Conference Program for XTECH 2006

IDEAlliance Announces Conference Program for XTech 2006

Program focuses on XML, standards-based and open technology for
enabling next generation of web applications

ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA, USA - March 14, 2006 - IDEAlliance
(www.idealliance.org), an established industry organization that
develops, educates and validates best practices in publishing and
information technology, announced today the full conference program for
XTech 2006 (www.xtech-conference.org/), the premier European conference
for developers and managers working with XML and web technologies. The
theme for this year's conference, "Building Web 2.0" recognizes the key
role of standards-based and open technology in enabling the next
generation of web applications. XTech 2006 will be held May 16-19 in
Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Building on the success of last year's conference, this year's tracks
include applications, browser technology, core technologies and open
data. Experts and leaders from all disciplines will present and discuss
the technology and design issues behind the evolving world of the web.

The applications track covers the use of web, XML and knowledge
technologies, and includes presentations on DITA, Rails, RDF and OWL,
Semantic Web, and syndication and aggregation. Browser technology
presentations focus on AJAX, XForms, SVG, and mobile web applications.
The core technologies track includes presentations on XQuery,

SPARQL and MySQL. Presentations in the open data track focus on
OpenStreetMap, GeoRSS and network security. For more information on
specific tracks, please visit www.xtech-conference.org/2006/tracks.asp.

"XTech 2006 brings together the most experienced and influential people
and companies in the information industry, providing them with
realistic and practical instruction and insight," said Edd Dumbhill,
XTech 2006 conference chair. "Our conference has long been a fertile
ground for the creation of new ideas and partnerships, and we look
forward to providing a much-needed forum for the energetic worlds of
web development and open data in the same way we have with XML over the
years."

XTech 2006 combines the worlds of web development, open source,
semantic web and open standards. Formerly known as the XML Europe
conference, XTech has widened its scope beyond traditional core topics
to include neighboring technologies from the web and business.
Participating companies at XTech 2006 include Adobe, Amazon, BBC New
Media, Blast Radius, IBM, Justsystems, Mozilla Corporation, Novell,
Oracle Corporation, Yahoo! and others.
