Trying to get a <div> to fit a <table>

I have a two column table. That looks like this.

Each cell (three total) has a div in it. I am trying to make a dynamic
page for resizing. I want the bottom of the right hand side div to line
up with the bottom of the bottom left div. The top left is a fixed
height div.

I tried using percentages, but it just didn't work out. I set the right
side to 100% and the bottom left to 83%, but when I resized they
wouldn't line up.

I'm thinking the only solution might be finding the height of the
browser screen and whenever the window is resized, to changed the
height of the bottom left to [browser height - top right height]

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I have tried to line up <div>s myself.

Yes, I tried to find the height in my attempt at lining up <div>s, but
I came to realise that it isn't the browwer window height.

What is wanted is the height of the <div> and this is not easy. It is
high as it wants to be. My attempts to obtain its height didn't prove
very useful

Thanks for the reply, I have given up on this layout for now and have
combined the two left cells into one single column.
