HREFing a whole cell

Is there a way to apply <a href= to a whole cell? not just the text in
there?

I really don't want the text changed to a LINK, if that makes sense
Thanks ahead

What do you want as a result?
Just that the text doesn't have underlining and doesn't look like a
link (why?), or just that the entire cell is clickable?

Style the anchor so it displays like a block.

Actually went with images as links, so that handled it for me

No, I went with images for menu choices, not just images of text
so that handled it for me

Meaning that that handles my original question. Not the answer, but I went
a different route
