Loading HTML docnt into a page

Hi,

I'm trying to layout a webpage (a fairly basic-ish one) using tables rather
than frames.
Similar to the following:
-----------------
| Heading |
-----------------
| | |
| m | main |
| e | |
| n | page |
| u | |
| | |

The only problem with using tables to do this is that if I change a link on
the menu part of the page, then I need to change that link on every page of
the site.

I've been told it is possible to make a html docment load another piece of
html into it, a bit similar to the way individual frames are loaded, but
I'll be damned if I can find a way to do it.

Is it possible to do this? Or am I barking up a tree and better to go back
to using frames for the site?

Cheers!
