HTML + TIME question on pausing the document's timeline

I'm just learning how to use TIME, with some success I'd say.. I'm
trying to figure out how to pause the timeline of an entire document.
The HTML + Time introduction document has a quote: "You can pause and
resume the document timeline using methods from the object model", but
I haven't had any luck finding the methods required.

I have a .wmv file playing on the right, and on the left are a series
of items that appear/disappear in support of the speaker's content (ie,
the video window). I want to make it so the viewer can pause both the
video AND the supporting material...

Also, IS there a place where TIME/SMIL developers "hang out"? A forum
or mailing list or whatever? Or is this the place?

Thanks for any advice!
