Validator does not support content type?

I'm using Internet Explorer on the W3C site and trying to upload my
pages for validation. The error message tells me the content type is
not supported and that this has to do with my browser configuration.
Is there some setting I need to change? Here is the specific error
message:
"Sorry, I am unable to validate this document because its content type
is text/plain, which is not currently supported by this service.

The Content-Type field is sent by your web browser and depends on its
configuration. Commonly, web servers will have a mapping of filename
extensions (such as ".html") to MIME Content-Type values (such as
text/html)."

This is a known issue with IE6 running on Windows XP SP2.

Use a real browser, or upload it and validate by URI.

http://www.w3.org/QA/2005/01/Validator-IE_WinXP_SP2 and if that's not
the problem you might need to change the file name extension of the
document you are trying to upload to .html.
