If a domain has a userid and password, how can we pass this userid and
password directly in the URL of the website, to gain access to the
site.
for example userid : X, password y, website is www.website.com
so how can teh URL be modified to pass the userid and password
just a simple question..
Easy, put username:password@ in front of the domain name.
*BUT*!!! Because this technique is frequently abused in mail fraud
attempts, it's now disallowed by updates to some web browsers, and frowned
upon in general (the name and password are there for all to see).
If this is for your own use, so be it, you'll know what to do. But if you
expect the link to work for complete strangers you might have to post an
explanation for how they should deal with it when it doesn't work.
