How to learn the state of the art

In Opera, put an icon on the bar to tap to add your own style sheet.
Tap on it on each page you look at to see the state-of-the-art.

In Opera:

Right Tap on main Toolbar. Customize. Add Browser View: Author Mode

In Tools Preferences Advanced Content Style-options:

type in the location of YOUR STYLE SHEET (suggested below) and
set User Mode to add your style sheet to the Page style and fonts

My ugly style sheet reveals the tables and the links:

Very frequently it reveals links I never would have found.
Very frequently it reveals the state-of-the-art to be table-layout plus
css beautification and obfuscation.

================= don't flame mine ! just make your own !

TABLE { border: 1px solid red; }

TD { border: 1px dotted red; }

BODY { BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffee; COLOR: #000066; }

A:LINK { BACKGROUND: #99ff99; COLOR: #000000; FONT: bold 100% Times,serif ;}
A:VISITED { BACKGROUND: #000000; COLOR: #99ff99; FONT: bold 100% Times,serif ;}
A:HOVER { BACKGROUND: #000000; COLOR: #ffffff; FONT: bold 100% Times,serif ;}
A:ACTIVE { BACKGROUND: #0000cc; COLOR: #ff6666; FONT: bold 100% Times,serif ;}

And your question is?

Or is it a response to some question that I don't see?

This is *mine* -- so I can top-post if I wish.

Remarkable how often I must hit the "My Style" button to

1. make the text readable

2. find the hidden links

Has css encouraged bad design?
Css doesn't kill design, people kill design?

1. make the text readable

Has css encouraged bad design?
No, what you describe is just as possible with presentational HTML,
except for link underlining. I told you before.
Css doesn't kill design, people kill design?
Yes, it's different with guns, whose sole purpose is killing.

Actually, you are just a troll. (At least I hope so for you, because
otherwise you would have to be really dumb.)

Seems to me we just killed off this exact same subject you started a
couple weeks ago. You didn't like how that discussion went and thought
you'd give it another go? You must be trolling.

I do know better than to feed the trolls, but sometimes I just can't
help myself...

If a post only contains a rhetorical question, it's best scribbled on
a piece of paper and left on your desk. Not posted in a newsgroup,
where all posts are discussed.

Wasn't it you also who replied to an initial post of yourself saying
"this is mine so I can toppost" ? This is *not* your notepad. This is
Usenet.
