Hi,
Why do firefox and IE6 render this differently?
http://mikewaters.net/div1.htm
The relevant divs are (in order that they appear in source):
1) float left; position relative; width 100px; height 200px
2) float right; position relative; width 100px; height 200px
3) height: 500px
IE6 places 1) and 2) as left and right columns, with 3) appearing in
the center or the two; content inside 3) is aligned along the right
side of 1).
Firefox places 1) and 2) as left and right columns also; however, it
aligns content in 3) along the right side of 1) for 200px of height;
then the content is aligned along the left side of the page
(disregarding the existence of 1)).
If I give 3) a float: left, it aligns correctly but then I have to give
it an explicit width; however, i want it to always 'kiss' the left side
of 2).
I am looking for a nice clean layout, with a left column, a content
column, and then a right column. The left and right columns should
have a fixed width, and the center column should expand so that all 3
column widths add up to 100% of the viewable area.
Please help!!

Robert Waters
