Double float problem

I have created a liquid layout with 3 columns, the left and right cols
being floated, and inside the middle column, I have a list of items that
are floated to the left so that I have a pure liquid layout. Problem is:
all that comes after the list of items is floated to left too:

http://www.auriance.com/docs/test/index.html

The word "Article" is on the same level of the last image at times,
depending on the width of the window. Now, if I clear this word "Article",
using h1 { clear: both; }, it jumps below the whole layout because the 2
columns are floated!

I can't use absolute positionning for the columns because the distance
from the top will never be the same.
Is there a way to prevent this?

For the <li> element, remove "float:left", add "display:inline".

remember: changing the h1 now means also changing also the first time
you used h1 ( for images)

Thanks a lot, it work fine, but now, how could I add a caption,
centralized, width the same width as the photo (100px)?
Here's what I came up with, but it's not underneath the photo:

Spartanicus answered this type of question quite nicely in the recent
thread "Center these images? And more..." started on June 12, 2005. His
sample code is (still) at
<http://homepage.ntlworld.com/spartanicus/temp.htm>. If not, I have a copy.
You may also peruse <http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/> for other
options.
