disappeared text in IE

Hi,

The following page gives the desired result in firefox:
http://www.vrijgezellenfeest.nl/serve_object.php?id=175

When viewing the same page in internet explorer there is no visible text
in the middle column of the page.

I'd like to make the result in IE identical to the result in firefox
(but the content in the middle as the most important issue). Did anyone
have an idea what may cause the middle content disappearing, and what
can I do to solve this issue.

Thanks in advance,

Roderik

Hi,

try to validate your document first. The text is there, but white on white.

The document is almost valid. The text in the listing is not maintained
by me, so i can't make this valid, but it I can't imagine that this will
result in not displaying it. There is some text white on white, but
why isn't this white on yellow, like in firefox? And the text in the
listings, I don't see it (but it takes some time to test in internet
explorer since I don't have microsoft windows here).

Almost valid, huh?
You have commented out the doctype declaration, but when I forced the
validator to validate it as XHTML 1.0 Strict (as you have it in the
DTD) the result gives 432 errors, and as HTML 4.01 the result is to
many errors to be "almost valid".

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...TML+1.0+Strict
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...ML+4.01+Strict

Also your CSS has a lot of errors.

Can anyone please think in terms of solutions. The high number of
invalid statements is just because the inserted items (not authored by
me) are in HTML and the design itself is (almost) VALID XHTML Strict.
