What am I missing? Firefox is [not] rendering correctly??

http://somestuff.batcave.net/table2div.html

Now I've done this a few hundred times and now when I want to show a simple
example using inline styling, firefox won't show it correctly.
While IE 6 does.
Maybe a fresh set of eyes will spot a simple mistake.
I've checked over the syntax and see nothing wrong.
I added a <div> just to ensure that the footer box will drop down and yet it
remains below the banner mixed in with the columns.
While the text dropped down just fine.
I do not understand this behavior.

Floated elements are taken out of the flow, so as far as the footer is
concerned, the floated elements have no height and therefore overlap.

Apply clear:left; to the footer and it will clear the floats.
The floats wrapper div is not necessary.

As I said, a fresh set of eyes helps.
The clear:left was what I was missing.

Thanks.
