asterisks in forms

I'd like to create a form where required fields are marked by
asterisks. The asterisks would then disappear as the field or
checkbox is filled in by the user.

If there's a way to do this with CSS, can you point me to some
examples?

Thanks!!!

No. But why would you want to? The fields are required even after they've
been filled in. What if a person were to try to get around filling in a
required field by typing an "x" into it and then deleting it?

The best example is actually a tutorial, and requires css and js.
