Default button for ENTER key

Hi everyone,

On a html page I have some input boxes and few buttons. On that page
if user hits ENTER key at any time, it will have a specific to be
defaulted to invoke [like default=true of Command Button in Visual
Basic]. Is same effect possible in HTML? how?

Thanks

What do you mean? Do you want ENTER to not submit a form (not a good
idea)? Or do you want to be able to cancel submission under certain
circumstances?

Hi I have asp.net web app. When a user clicks the enter key when he is viewing the aspx web form, it jumps to the starting web form. How can I handle the user hitting the enter key and to redirect it to a default button. So lets say that I have a button name - Submit - if the user clicks anywhere in the form on the enter key I want it to default to a click on the 'Submit' button which is an asp.net button.

On my current form, when I hit the enter key in a texbox, the form appears to resubmit itself, but it's not actually doing a submit (or so I think?). I would like to have the enter button fire the logic I have for the button. In other words, I would like to have a default button for the form, is this making sense? I thought I saw on Fritz Onion's MSDN webcasts there is a way to assign a default button to a form/page, is this in fact...

This is quite serious - for a beginner... No property setting for a default button? I just want a button on a search page to automatically be pressed when I hit the return/enter key. Somehow I did it with one of my 2 buttons, (but I don't know how) one of the buttons (cmdClear) decided on its own to be the default button - instead of the cmdSearchMember button - so much so that even after searching and finding 2 other solutions: 1)...

I have a simple form that has two submit buttons on it. The problem I have is that I want one button to be the default button when the user is filling out one section of the form and another button to be the default when filling out a different art of the form. I can't seem to find a way of stopping the first button on the form begin selected. I know there is a way to do this in ASP.NET 2.0 but I can't seem to find one in ASP.NET 1.0

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
