How to include an HTML doc in another HTML doc

How to include an HTML doc in another HTML doc

Problem: to insert the body section of an HTML doc in another HTML document
at a specific location.

One possible way is to add a WebCharm tag like this:

<%@charm:html 20 0 my_services.htm %>

When the HTML template is processed by a WebCharm-aware web server, the
content (everything between <BODY> </BODY> tag) of my_services.htm is
inserted at the tag location.

This tag is an alternative to the @charm:text tag. It is specialized for including
another HTML document so that a well formed HTML document can
be generated from the template. It allows the include HTML document to be
perserved in its' original form so that it may be viewed and/or modified normally.

Visit edgesoft.ca web site for more information on WebCharm template and tags.

What are you arguing about? You posted the same message twice.

I don't care how you try to spin it. You posted the same message in
less than 1 day. The message is promoting some commercial product.
That makes it look like spam. And the last bit -- "material...mea nt
to be informative and open people to new ideas" -- well that's just
insulting our intelligence.

Same message, twice?

How does including an external file (any file) vs. external HTML be
considered the same? If you use #include on an HTML doc, you
would get a malformed (eventhough some browsers are more forgiving)
generated result right?

No insults intended. I am promoting the use of the product. Not so that
you will buy it. The product is best made available through ISPs. In which
it will cost web authors and designers next to nothing to use it.

Yep, he's trying to promote the same thing in alt.html.webedi t under the

Yes, I was just thinking a minute ago about your request for site
critique. Was it another subtle spam? 'Twas odd that you post a request
for review of your site, then within hours promote the site as a non-free
solution to a couple of requests for help.
Don't you have better things to do?

I am playing around with some PHP code. I want to put in an include() function so I can include existing HTML code and output it to the browser. Lo and behold PHP does not support relative paths with the include() function! (How shortsighted can you get?) Is there any way at all to use relative paths with include()? Any hacks? If I use an absolute filepath, everything is fine. But I don't want to do that--I can't do that. I want...

I've come across a very weird problem. Virtual includes work on all my ASP pages on the entire website, including those in subdirectories, yet they won't work on a particular page I created, even though the virtual include statement is copy & pasted exactly as it appears on the working pages. What would cause virtual includes to work in one page on a website, but not on another? Error Message: Microsoft VBScript runtime error...

Hi, got the following problem: I want to include some code in an HTML page so that at a particular place, it fetches another HTML file from another server and puts it in. Reason for this is that this space keeps changing. The original HTML runs on an eBay server, i.e. I cant place the second file on their server. Is there a standard HTML code or some Javascript that can do this?

Hi, got the following problem: I need to include an HTML file that sits on another server B in an HTML file that sits on server A, and I need to include this at a particular place in the file. The "include" command doesnt work obviously as it is server-side. In other words: say I have a webpage, at a particular place, for example halfway down, I want to include HTML that sits on another server.

is there a way of having a file that's name is a variable (eg dependant on the user name) act like a include. i know that you cant define the file for an include asp tag using a variable and that reading the file using "Response.Write FSO.OpenTextFile(ppp, 1, False, False).readall" prints the file, and treating it like a html file. can anyone suggest another way of doing this?
