How to properly handle divs, and displaying of images, etc

Hello style group,

A while back I posted a message in the area in this link:(http://
groups.google.c om/group/comp.infosystem s.www.authoring.stylesheets/
browse_thread/thread/911e330b2d55587 1/37ab6540c7eccc5 7?
lnk=gst&q=eholz 1#37ab6540c7ecc c57)

The suggestions were pretty helpful. I have attempted to create a
couple of pages, using the techniques you (all) showed. I am still
not quite sure how to do some of this correctly.

I have two sample pages that could stand some evaluation/review.
One site I used for info:
http://matthewjamestaylor.com/blog/p...-left-menu.htm

I copied this (more or less for the "catalog.ht m" page).

Here is the URL for the test/development site (I am undoing the
"frontpage" stuff from this site) http://woodapple.dns2go.com

the catalog page can be linked by clicking the catalog "button" .

Thanks for a good newsgroup,

Any suggestions will be helpful.

Hi, In the following code, everything looks fine on Explorer, but on Netscape there is a large white gap between the 'top' section and the 'bottom menu' section. I've set the style 'div img {display:block}' already to get rid on Netscape's problem with putting space around images, but it does nothing for this. Setting margins and padding...

I'm afraid I'm a newbie to javascript coding, so I hope this isn't too silly a question. Basically I'm trying to display a simple animation of a sequence of 24 hourly rain radar pictures (radar1.jpg, radar2.jpg etc). I'm preloading the pictures into an array, then displaying the pictures in sequence using setTimeout to call the animate()...

Hi guys, I've got a page that shows a number of packages available for sale. Each package has a little description, and then a (sometimes long) list of features for each package. I thought it would be a good idea to let visitors hide the details for each package, so that they can see just the summaries together. So I borrowed some code...

I am looking for a javascript solution to drag a series of images (along the horizontal axis only) within a fixed div to give the same drag effect of Google Maps. Here are the requirements: The div will be fixed, and its only display purpose is to give the preception of a "viewport" or window with its border. A variable number of images...

Well, how can I describe this succinctly? I have a page with DIVs that us background images to produce a border effect. It works perfectly well, but I want to make up (for now) 3 different border/background effects. Rather than duplicate the entire chunk of CSS 3 times, I thought "Gee, I should only have to specify the 3 backgrounds (all...

I've looked around for some points on the web that help explain the issue, but have so far found nothing. I've come to the conclussion that the problem has to be a CSS one. Here's the site address. How do I get these 2 divs to be side by side ? I have been trying to apply the float logic to a couple of divs on the same screen, but without success. There is a main div that holds two sub-divs The LHS sub-div ( class= listerTop) is a listing and the RHS sub-div i( class=ad_big_box ) is a set of images.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
