I want to understand the difference between submit button and regular button: <input type="submit"> and <input type="button">. My understanding is that submit button will send the entire HTML form to the web server, but regular button won't. I have a problem that needs to pass HTML elements data back and forth in several ASP pages. I am using regular button to do that. But what's the approaches?? Please advise. Thanks!

Hi all. I have a form, and several text and image links on it that should submit the form with different actions. I prepared a simple page with just the code that's not working. PROBLEM: The form won't submit if the link is clicked, but will submit if the SUBMIT button is clicked. I need to call a function to change the form's action according to user's input before it is submitted.

Hey guys, I've decided to stop banging my head against the wall and just ask you guys for the answer. I can't seem to find it. I have a form in which I have multiple submit buttons; only, I'm using button tags, not input tags to do it. It seems that IE6 is treating all the button elements as being successful on submit. This is, to say the least, surprising since the Spec is pretty clear that it should.

So.. I have a form that submits to an ASP.net site made in C-sharp. The ASP site is not mine, i do not have the server side code. When I submit from my form by pressing the Submit button, I get different results than when I use a javascript submit: form1.submit();. I think the javascript submit is working as it should, since I want the server to process an __EVENTTARGET posting. When I click the submit button, it does not process the...

I need to process a HTML form in python. I'm using urllib2 and HTMLParser to handle the html. There are several steps I need to take to get to the specific page on the relevant site the first of which is to log in with a username/password. The html code that processes the login consists of 2 edit boxes (for User ID and Password) and a Submit button which uses ASP.net client side validation as follows (formatted for clarity): <tr> <td...

I'm having trouble working with a Summary Validation control. I need to click my submit button twice for the Summary to display when validation errors occur on the page. Background: My page contains a radio control which the user must answer to finish the page entry. If user hits submit button without selecting item from control, summary validation error displays. In this case one click is sufficient. Once the user selects choice on...

I have a function that looks up a SQL table to see if a search term matches. It works fine but so far there are two things yet to work: 1) After entering a search term and pressing Enter, nothing has been happening. It has only been searching when I click the Search button. 2) Neither of the Response.Write's have been displaying any text. Here's the code:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
