IE6 and IE7 on same PC?

Is it possible to have both IE6 and IE7 on the same PC?

I'm currently running IE7 on Windows XP SP2 but would like to have a copy of
IE6 on the same machine to test my websites.

Easiest solution: run a virtual PC (it's free nowadays), and get a

Download the standalone IE6 here:

http://browsers.evolt.org/download.p...e6eolas_nt.zip

(I should mention that I first found this a few months ago by typing 'IE6
IE7' into Google, which takes much less time than even writing a post to
Usenet, let alone waiting for a reply.)

Actually, I tried the 'IE6 IE7' search in Google - and got a gazillion hits.
The first several were completely unrelated to my question so I figured I'd
save time by asking in a newsgroup. I was right; I think this DID save some
time since I didn't need the answer instantaneously .

I have to say that it wouldn't occur to me to even try entering "IE6
IE7" into a search engine.

The combination of "IE6 IE7" must come close to the opposite of
googlewhacking, generating the maximum possible number of hits for a
pair of words (2,250,000 in Google)

All credit to Google though, the article came out #1; I could have
clicked "I'm feeling lucky"!

Yup, limited validity, but refreshed once ever so often with a new one.

Well a little common sense goes a long way. Worn;t something like:

ie6 ie7 together

ie6 ie7 install same computer

or similar be a more logical keyword selection to narrow the focus?

So you could find the info with such vague keywords...hmm trying to
understand you point.

When connecting to the server from 3 instances of hyper terminal, i've noticed that each of the newly created server sockets, uses the same server port. Is it possible that connections from the same IP will connect on the same server port? I...

MSDN says: "The ref and out keywords are treated differently at run- time, but they are treated the same at compile time. Therefore methods cannot be overloaded if one method takes a ref argument and the other takes an out argument." But, I think it means they are treated the same at run time, and treated BOTH different AND the same at compile time: 1. you can't have two methods that differ only in ref/out (presumably because they are...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
