Change font size in a text area

36 New Member
I have tried to do this several ways.

I have a text area on a form that I want people to be able to type in. When the text area is typed in, the text is very large. I would like to be able to make the text smaller when someone is typing into the form.

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking for but you can use CSS to format the textarea.

[HTML]<style type="text/css">
textarea {font-size:12px; width:200px; height:200px;}

How do I detect when the font size has been changed (especially by user action: either Ctrl+Scroll wheel or View/Text Size)? This is just for use on IE 5.5+, but it would be great if there was a generic solution. Thanks, Csaba Gabor from New York

I am a bit curious about this. The graphic design people I work with say it is their preferred font for web pages. The reason being that it is "kinder" to the eye both in terms of shape and size. The HTML "hardcore elititst" profess that it is a useless font because it is too big compared to other fonts. Personally I do not care one way or the other, but I generally trust

Hi all, newbie here. Odd sounding subject but I can't describe it any better. I'm trying to teach myself a little about CSS. In a test site (not published) I am trying to use CSS to make navigation buttons. I'm using the tutorial I found at this site as a basis for it. http://www.mako4css.com/TFonts.htm

This is how I do it now. 1. Determine the dimensions of the rectangle. 2. Set a my font size to a fixed maximum size. 3. Apply the font my string and measure the string using the graphics object. 4. If string size is less than the size of the rectangle, we are done.

Sorry if the question is a bit basic. I generally express my font sizes in pixels, originally to handle the Macintosh/Windows font size differences (though I believe that they both now treat points the same way, at least within the browser window). It has been suggested that one should use ems to allow browsers to increase or decrease the text size. However, I have never had trouble with pixels.

I spent all day yesterday trying different things. Something has happened so I can't change font size. I have a table and in the first cell I have only text. I tried using the cell's Style to change the font size. I tried using the cell's attribute to change the font size. I tried adding a paragraph element and doing the above to it. Removed all font sizes from Body, Table...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
