Page moves left with Firefox when adding table in layer

16 New Member

I've got a problem with Firefox (!). It's not common - I know. :-)
The page http://www.vallentunapingst.se/index.html i positioned correctly.

At http://www.vallentunapingst.se/motesprogram2.html I've added a table in the layer. This makes the page move a little bit to the left. It doesn't turn out that way in IE.

Why does the browser works like this? How do I make the page stay in the same position regardless if I have a table or not?

Best Regards,

It moves to the left because the scrollbar is showing. I'm out of town and don't have my dev tools but I'm guessing is IE isn't extending the table the same way so it doesn't have scroll bars. You may have to zero margins to make them the same.

You sure pointed me in the right direction! I found http://www.communitymx.com/content/a....cfm?cid=528A0 . I used "html { min-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 1px; }" and now it seems ok. Do you have a better solution?

Thanks again,

This is my first post. I hope I don't sound stupid. I have a script conflict when I put two scripts on one page. Both scripts will work if I use one at a time but the menu button script will not work when I add the scrolling text script. One script, the menu button script, has an "Onload" command and the other one does not. From what I know,...

I have a ASP .Net page that allows moving around items on the page through javascript. This page works fine in IE. In FireFox however, I have found that if the page is using XHTML 1.0 Transitional as the doctype, you cannot set the style.left and style.top properties of image or div tags. If you remove the doctype from the page it works...

I have a news website, with asp pages. It has publishing software which allows you to add articles in a database, and then calls them up from links etc. I have added dynamic meta tags in 2 parts. The first part is in the inc.header.asp file which is called up on every page. The page itself has the meta tag variable, ie. title, description. They...

I set a table with 100% width to occupy all available space, but in IE7 it uses more than that, it uses 100% of the page width instead of 100% of the table container. Could you test the page in IE7 and in other browsers please? http://auriance.com/docs/tmp/test.html I'd like the main content and the right menu on the same level. It's...

I have a fairly complex form (generated by means of an ASP 3 page). The form is used to define a query against a database. After running a query, the user hits their browser's back button and goes back to the form, where their selections show up. They can change whatever they want to change and resubmit the new query. Mostly, everything works...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
