3 forms, 2 don't show cursor

I wasn't sure which of these 2 groups is the right one to post to, so
please excuse the duplicate post.

Does anyone know how to resolve this? I can't figure this out. In my web
site I have 3 forms for data input. One of the forms shows the cursor
blinking, but the other 2 do not. I found that the 2 forms in question
are using a position:absolu te style, and the 1 form does not. When I
remove that style item the forms work fine.

I really need the position:absolu te style on these 2 forms, so is there
some way to force the cursor to show up anyway?

I found that by taking out the position:absolu te from the stylesheet,
and putting it in a click event in the javascript, the cursor now shows
up fine.

Very strange, but I'm glad it works.

Good thing, because without a URL to actually *see* your source I am not
sure how you expected any of us to help.

Hmm, I'm not sure about this one.

Is there any chance we could have a look at what you've done?

I am trying to show an hourglass mouse cursor and disable the main form whilst waiting for some activity to finish. The problem I have come across is that as soon as you disable the main form the cursor returns to the default arrow. Does anyone know of an alternative approach ? It can be easily simulated with a project containing a single form with a button and timer on as follows :

Hello, In my project I am inheriting several forms. However when I inherit from a form and add additional subroutines and methods to my inherited form I get all sorts of problems. e.g. I sometimes get MyVarialble is not declared errors when the variable is quite clearly declared, when I change it to public and then back again to private the error goes away!!! Also I get lots of member not found errors, these however don't stop me from...

I posted this in dotnet.framework.windowsforms and haven't received a reply. Hopefully someone here can help. I have a windows form (.Net 1.1) with a text box and some combo boxes on it. The comboboxes auto drop down when they receive focus. Here's the problem: When you start typing in the text box the cursor disappears (this appears to be standard windows behavior). When you hit tab and the first combo box receives focus the cursor will...

Hello I want to get the value of a property of a control from a thread other than the thread the control was created on, as far as I can see this is not the same as invoking an operation on a control on a different thread I have used the following code as per the guidance in the msdn documentation to invoke an operation on a control from a thread other than which it was created delegate void SetFormCursorCallback(Cursor cursor);

Hi I'm currently developping a skinnable form by using a borderless form (Form.FormBorderStyle=None). Is it the right way to go in the first place? if it is. Assuming that when there is no border to the form there is no context menu when you right-click on your form in the start bar too (the one with Restore, Move, Size, Close et al.)... How can I make this context menu work again? Is there a way to tell the form to make it work even if...

Hi I have a user control which the user can "drag" across the screen (I'm not using "real" .NET drag drop - instead a single click flavour, where the control is drawn at the mouse position). Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
