Frame flashes when changed in IE

Here is a simple frameset with two menu choices and
a target frame which has a background image. The
documents that are displayed in the target frame have
their background defined as transparent.

In a Mozilla-based browser (I'm using Firefox)
the target frame changes smoothly without any
apparent disruption of the background image.
In Internet Explorer 6.0, the target frame flashes
white briefly whenever the menu selection is

Is there a way to make this work properly in
IE without specifying the background image in
each document that will be displayed in the
target frame?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
