WIN IE Refreshing WEB Page Over-writing Problem

My system:

HP Dual V//V 2.8 Meg clock / 2GB RAM / 500GB HDD / NVIDIA 9600GT / WIN Vista OS / Latest WIN Internet Explorer / High Speed Internet

Problem:

My Home Page of Comcast.net displays both Text and Pics in separate IN THE NEWS boxes near the top of the screen (LHS) . The initial paint looks fine. When the IN THE NEWS Text and Pic boxes REFRESH (after about 8 sec), those 2 areas do not erase the existing data before the refresh occurs, causing the refreshed data to be super-imposed on the initial data, blurring the text to be unreadable, and the pics are over-layed. The non-refreshed areas (most of the web page) are FINE. Comcast reports this problem has not been reported by anyone (MANY customers out there).

IE problem? Vista problem? It may be some setting I've changed in some application, or ????????

Any ideas? Has anyone seen this problem?

(ps: I'm not a developer or programmer)

Does this happen with all users? If so (or unsure), create a new user and check if it's the same there.

Of course, you could always choose to use Firefox instead of IE - it's much more standard compliant than IE and much safer.

Nepomuk,

* I logged on as a different user -- same problem.
* I switched to Mozilla Firefox -- same problem.
* Interesting problem here. I entered into some big-name web page sites (IBM, AT&T, GM, Ford, Verizon, etc. that had refreshing text and/or pics. NO PROBLEMS! The problem sure points to the Comcast site, or a setting I have somewhere on my computer may be causing this over-writing conflict???????
Will call Comcast again on Monday to further explore. What's weird is that NO other Comcast customers have reported the problem (must be several million!).
Mucho Thanks for the response!! Thought someone may have seen this exact problem somewhere .....
