ACCESS EXCEL WORD All of the above - Help

3
Guys

Here's my prob. I work with a group og non-techie guys who are non-PC literate but need to produce exacting detailed reports on a regular basis. They are living proof of a little knowledge is a dangerous thing etc..

What is currnetly happening is the open fully editable doc's and SS's which they edit incorrectly and then issue to customers in an appauling state.

What I need to do is limit the docs and SS's to forms allowing them to enter only data and not amend or change fixed layout. I feel my knowledge level is sufficent to do this.

However what my boss wants is a menu drivern input screen from where they will select the specific report then want which will the be launched. A further requirement is that they can enter a user id which will then load a signature file onto the bottom of each report. EXAMPLE Mike logs in, select report so Mike's signature is at end of document.

Time is not on my side. I am comforatble enough with Excel and Word usage but my Access is vey low and my VB is non-existent. Am I in BIG trouble?? My thoughts were to have an ACCESS menu/swicthboard which called on a specific report? Within the report (WORD or EXCEL) user can select their code to select the graphic?

Maybe I am not expalining this very well.. Any input or thoguths would be greatly appreciated. Please not too much techie deatils as I am drowning in sea of deapair as we speak!!!

Regards

Nisio

Unless you need Access I would build the menu in Excel or Word. Why bring in another application if you don't need it.

If you could make a template for each person with a saved header and footer, saying who it is, and probably the date/time etc. Then they would use that, import the information, and each time they print their name's will be displayed.

You would use VBA.

There are a number of sites you can try but you could start with these.
