Regarding file formats, image conversion

Hi,

I am a Research Scholoar working in the area of nanotechnology. I have some STM pictures taken about a few years back my Professor. The problem is that the images are of some unsual extension.

I have tried different conversion softwares like imagemagic, softimages, netpbm. But nothing worked. I am working on this for a long time.

The file format goes like this 01011999.y01, 01011999.y02 etc.

I will be extremely thankful to someone who can help me in this regard.

Regards,

Heya, Jithesh.

I did a little searching, and it looks like the .y01, .y02, ..., .y09 files are "Secondary index (Paradox)", but I'm not sure exactly what that means.

Hi,

Thank you. I am still not able to convert the files. There are several softwares available. But no software is recognizing this format.
