to be a programmer dost it important to master system analysis and design

I am a univerisity student i hate the system analysi and design subject so does it impact on my dream to be a best programer if it have an impact please describe to me. Thanks

It is important, cuz if your programming and not listening/meeting with your client, you won't make him/her what they want and won't get paid.

You always need to design your software; hacking your way out of a wet paper
back doesn't buy you much. If you want to avoid customers look for universities
that need programmers so you can dig yourself into 'scientific programming'.
But you always need to design things first before you start banging that keyboard.

Nobody really needs hackers on a long term basis.
