When you post a new thread then edit it, you have the option of what type of notification you would like. I'm not sure if it works, but in theory you could get an email when someone replies to your post. ( I think that I've seen it work and ran a test by turning instant email notification in this post ) We'll find out if it works when someone replies here.

Nope. Just one notification. haha.

In fact the email says
There may be other replies also, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again.

Yours,
Community team
And the Notification Type has been reset.
