Links wanted for how-to server hosting at home

I am clueless as to what search terms to use. What I want to do is buy a server and connect it to the internet from home so I can have host my website myself from home. I don't know what the cost is to use a home internet connection. I don't know if the bandwidth would violate the home internet service agreement or not. I can't find any articles that would hash out all the details of hosting a server at home.

I can find thousands of links to businesses that do dedicated hosting, and how-to start your own internet business. Neither do I want. I also don't need prices on buying a server.
Thanks in advance! I greatly appreciate it!

I got smart. I finally typed in "hosting a server at home" which gave me 9 results. One of those results was useful. I had forgotten about how unstatic IP addresses are. I found a site that has a product that works around this issue for cheap.

I also found that no one recommends hosting a server from home because most internet connections forbid servers. I thought so. I only found 1 site for how to host a server at home, and that site is down. LOL

If anyone has a link that hashes out the details of such an adventure, please post it. None of the 9 links really hashed out the details.

Long winded forethought:
Okay, so it looks like I am looking at bending over backwards to overcome my mental illness so that my boyfriend would dare marry me. With marriage to him, I'll be able to afford to get a dedicated host. Without marriage, I won't be able to afford it because my disability payments are too low. I'm also looking at bending over backwards to learn programming faster so I can get my dream website up and making money for me. This way, I might be able to get off of disability and not need to be married to make ends meet. It all comes down to money money money. LOL (Yes, my boyfriend is really cool. I've known him for 20 yrs.)
