Hiya,

You need to buy hosting subscription and domain name.
E.g. visit http://www.streamlinenet.co.uk (For UK)
FOr USA visit http://domains.host.ac/kb/servlet/KBServlet/cat205.html for more information.

Cheers,
Nik

I assume as it is your first website that you are only using HTML or XHTML so you need to buy webhosting (I recommend this rather than free hosting, although it depends how much you are going to be using that space) and a domain name. If you dabble in languages such as PHP you will need to install Apache.

Good luck with your website and if you need any further help learning XHTML or another language you wish to program with I recommend http://www.w3schools.com

Depending on your ISP as well, you can call and ask them for a static IP and host the site yourself, if you feel comfortable enough creating and locking down a web server.
