I am offering gift certificates with a redemption code. They will be sent to the redemption page...I need to make sure that if they try and use the Redemption Code after their initial vist that they get a message that the REDEMPTION has already been used, How would I set this up in my data base. Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you want a simple method, you could have a field yes/no which denotes whether the redemption code has been used or not. I assume you know how to set that using a server-side language when the user visits your website.

I'm afraid you won't be able to connect to a database with HTML. You will need to learn a server-side language and make sure that your host supports it. PHP is supported by most if not all. Other options are ASP, ColdFusion, JSP, etc.
