Newcomer seeking advice on Job

keyvanrahmadi
Hopefully I am posting in the right section and not annoying everyone, if I am then please except my sincere apology for wasting your time and hopefully the Mods will move it to the right location and forgive me. I have just recently finished learning Mysql databases and since I seriously enjoyed studying it, I have taken on myself to learn other databases such as Access and Oracel. As you all are well aware of its nearly impossible for a newcomer to land a job, especially one with out hand on experience and at my age (39 here). So since I have been using this forum through most of learning, I could not think of a better place to ask for help and advice, about how I can land a better job, doing what I have picked up and learned at my age and make a use of it.

I am also willing to give a helping hand, with projects for other people, so I can get the experience I need and as I hold a day job, I am not so worried about getting paid.

So guys and Gals if you can help and or have any advice to give my direction please let me know, as the saying goes I am all Ears :)

not sure that will pay my bills....
I doubt that.

Have gone through the offers here?

If you don't have experience, you could try a project, and sell/publish it. If you can show some people what you've done they might not be so keen on how many years you've been programming. You could also try by first looking for a contract position (they are easier to get than permanent positions) and get your experience that way.

If all this doesn't work, fine, you can just follow my first advice then ...

Hey buddy,

Some advice I would give you is freelance computing sites, like this one where you can start off with some small simple projects, and as you get more confident you can take on more complex ones, giving you good experience and getting a few quid while you are at it. You can then use this experience to create a portfolio of skills to show potential employers.
