Putting a PS2 cd into a computer

is it possible to put a PS2 cd into a computer and view the files? would it read it at all? im running windows xp home

i just want to know if its safe, and what will happen.

Without promising anything, I'd have to say it wouldn't be able to read it. I'm pretty sure PS2 CDs, and any gaming console CDs, are written in a different format than computer CDs. While I don't think it would hurt anything, I don't think you could do anything with it - and I definitely don't recommend changing any files on the CD.

Again, this is all my guess - I'm not completely sure.

I'm kinda not sure either but ...

Someone once told me that (aside from differences that may exist in the actual data format) that PS2 discs are read in the opposite direction to PC disc, That is they spin the other way.

I put a PS2-game in my computer once, but nothing happend...My computer said that there was no valid cd/dvd in the drive, so I took it out again...haven't tried again since then...

I'm kinda not sure either but ...

You would need to put your PS2 DVD in a DVD drive in order for it to read.
I know there are emulators, as well as tools to rip movies/music from the discs, so I can't think of a reason why you wouldn't be able to read them.
The easiest way to find out would just be to try.
