You log on using a password, right? So right-click the folder you want to keep others (who are not sharing you login - logins should NOT be shared anyway) from accessing. Go to Sharing tab. Check "Make Private". That's it.

In recent versions of windows, even if login is not password protected (that is even if the machine is set to use one setting for everyone) there is a way to password protect folders (I stumbled accross it the other day, and now, of course, can't remember what I did). Without being too cynical though, I'm not convinced that this is secure.....

I'm guessing that Nikky is not trying to keep out super hackers, just sibblings or schoolmates.

You can never be sure....(sibblings and schoolmates might be superhackers (although I guess in this case bad luck))

Rright-click the folder to bring up Properties. Go to Sharing tab. Check "Make Private". That's it. But this only works if you log in to your machine with a password.

You can make a "Compressed (zipped) Folder" in Windows, drag all the files you want into it.. Double click it and and the click File >> Add a Password. Specify the password and your done. I think this only applies to that specific type of folder. :(
