Hi all.
Just found it a little strange. My average was somewhere in the vicinity of 16½. I posted something like 32 messages yesterday, and my average dropped to slightly over 16. There's got to be some mighty weird maths behind that. :-)

It works on the average per day I assume so if you miss a day it spreads the new count over the two days?
I don't know I'm just guessing. Also when does the day start? Don't forget different time zones. We'll have to ask KUB to join an intellectual discussion on the matter when he gets time.

Yes, I wondered about that. I was going by messages marked "Today". (When I get to work in the morning, the messages I posted the previous evening from home are shown as "Today").

Are your post times off by 20 something minutes like mine?

Yeah, about 25 I think.
I just checked mine out and it seems to be working correctly minus a small rounding up error. My post times are off as well though.
My times are off by about 4.5 hours...maybe because I'm in MD, USA? Is this site hosted in England?

I'm off by about 25/27 mins as well and I'm in a very different time zone from Killer42.
What's the story KUB? <Grin>

I think the site is hosted somewhere in the US. West Coast?

You need to set your timezone in your "control panel" settings. (That's the Control Panel link at the top of the 'thescripts' page, not the windows one). Then it will only be off by about 25 minutes.

D'oh - thanks for the tip. Now it doesn't say I'm posting at midnight when I wake up XD!
I sincerely hope we are not running a competition here, are we? What do we earn, brownie points?

I think it's more in the nature of intellectual curiousity. Translated, as programmers we can't bear not understanding why!!

I think you hit the nail right on the head!
After all, isn't that why anyone gets into programming in the first place?
As I said in the initial post, I was just curious about an anomaly. It's astonishing how often such curiosity will turn up a significant bug, or opportunity for improvement.
In this case though, I think I just checked too early in the day. I don't think the "today/yesterday" display is in synch with the stats. No big deal, really.
