Automatic Processing - HELP!

[ IP: Logged ]
I work for a small business, and we process paperwork that is very repetitive. We receive it via e-mail and it is usually laid out basically the same. The e-mail is on an IMAP server. We use Outlook to check it. We input it into a Retail program (RetailIQ) and save it.

What I need is to know what kind of language to use to write a script to check the mail, whether through outlook or through the server itself, and search for specific titles like "customer name:" and "address:" and information like that and take the data following it (ie: the customers name, the customers address) and enter it into another program's database.

What I basically need is a script or help towards writing said script and extracting the data from the emails. I think I can handle the other half of inputing it into the database, but help on that would be nice. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks for your time, it is much appreciated.
