FTP download from Unix Server

70
I have to do data dumps from our Unix server (I can't connect directly to the tables) to populate data in an Access db. The current code I use to ftp these files is pretty cumbersome - does anyone know of anything more up to date I could try?

I can't answer the question, but are you using VBA to ftp your files? I've never thought about trying that, but it'd be pretty useful.

It comes in very handy. We work in a combo Unix/Windows world and they don't play well together. I have to do data dumps that go to the Unix server and then I have to get them to the Windows server for the users. I've gotten to where I use it in my apps - hardcode the un and pw and then it keeps me out of it - saves a lot of my time in the end.

That's EXACTLY how it is here. Most of the processes are automated, but we must have three or four applications our data goes through before it can even be dumped into Excel/Access :(

Our systems are so disconnected! I have several custom apps to pull all the data together and make sure the systems are showing the same things. I stay very busy.
