Can you get AS2 to recognise current page and store it as a var?

Hi there. I am very much a novice with actionscript, and am wondering if anyone can provide an answer for what I want to do:

I have a 5-6 page website. At the top of each page I have a Flash menu with a scrolling background image. Now what I want to do is have the background image different for each page, ie. the swf file is the same one for each page, but dynamically loads a different background image depending on what html page is being viewed.

So I'm thinking that if there is some way that Flash can get what the current page is and store it in a variable, I should be able to work out the rest. But can't find such an option. Or is there any other way to do this? Can anyone help with a solution?

Cheers.
