flashplayer control

helpmepls
this might be a stupid question, please excuse my ignorance i am new to dev!

i am trying to embed an swf file in a web page. It is a link from another site (supplier site) and I was unable to capture the swf file (tried flash catcher and some other software, also firefox)

the swf file plays ok but the flash player does not have play, stop, pause etc controls. I have set the menu="true" but it still doesn't show up.

Any ideas?

First of all there is no stupid question.
There is a way which is called embedding Video and using video in a timeline(this one will allow you to make play, stop, forward buttons.
Look both of them up in Google.
Also I would contact the own of that .swf file they just might give you the full file, I would rather you do it that why and if you go the other route (taking it from the internet and embedding it you better give them credit for legal reasons.

You have been warned about this issue.

thank you so much for your quick reply. I have found some info on running videos in timelines.

And thank you for the suggestion/warning. I think giving them credit only strengthens our credibility anyway, being affiliated with a major manufacturer. So yes, I will speak to them and add something.

Thank you again so much for saving me more hours of headache!!!
