Passing data to a PHP script

69
Hi,

I have the following actionscript that invokes a PHP script.

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.
  2. var articlesToRetrieve = 5;
  3. var currentIndex = 0;
  4.
  5. varSenderTitles = new LoadVars();
  6. varReceiverTitles = new LoadVars();
  7.
  8. var limit = currentIndex + "," + articlesToRetrieve;
  9. var url = "http://www.bemod.co.uk/scripts/GetNewsArticles.php?limit=" + limit;
  10.
  11. //Send request.
  12. varSenderTitles.sendAndLoad(url, varReceiverTitles, "GET");
  13.
  14. //Retrieve the thread text.
  15. varReceiverTitles.onLoad = function()
  16. {
  17.      .....
  18. }
  19.
  20.
The PHP script is:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.
  2. $sql = "SELECT news_id, title FROM news ORDER BY title DESC LIMIT " . $_GET['limit'];
  3.
  4. $result = $con->sqlExecute($sql);
  5.
  6. while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result, MYSQL_ASSOC))
  7. {
  8.      $articles .= $row['news_id'] . '~' . $row['title'] . '|';
  9. }
  10.
  11. $articles = urlencode($articles);
  12.
  13.
The PHP script works fine when I replace $_GET['limit'] with a hardcoded value. When I print out what is returned into varReceiverTitles it is undefined.

Any ideas?
