My menu seems to be heavy and I dont know why. Help?

Hi there. Thanks in advance for the people reading and trying to help.

I'm very begginer using flash and action script, and I tryed to do this one navigation menu. Since I dont have experience doing this, I did things in a way I thought it should work, to create the onmouseover animation of the buttons of my navigation menu.

After a couple days working on it, I managed it to work almost the way I wanted it to, with 2 exceptions that I would like some help to fix.

1 - When I pass the mouse over the buttons, it seems like alot of times it doesnt start the event. I hear the .wav but the jumping text animation doesnt trigger. I need to pass the mouse very slow to make it happen.

2 - Second problem I have is that when the animation finishes, the button returns to it's original state, instead of the last keyframe of the OnMouseOver animation, even if I keep my mouse on top of the button.

Now, since I have no experience, I probably did some mistakes with the animation it self, placing it inside the wrong frame, or stoping it the wrong time. I keep trying diferent things, but all I manage to do is making the app to stop working at all.

The animation can be found at the top of this beta of the site

and the .fla file is ziped here:

I'm using Flash CS3 and AS3 for the links

I dont know if this is ok or not (to post links here), so if it's not feel free to delete or ignore it.

thanks alot for any advice

Ok, about my first problem.

Searching a bit more into my work, I noticed that changing the document fps from 12 to 30 helped a bit. Not sure if this was the only problem tho.
I will keep researching and asking around. Any insight will be greatly appreciated

Alright, I found what was wrong with my menu.

To the first problem, I figured was really the low fps. I changed from 12 (standard for flash I guess) to 30fps, and it started to work much better.

Second problem was because of a mistake I did. I inserted AS to stop my animation from repeating forever while mouse over, but I did it on the very first frame of my AS layer. So I created a blank keyframe at the end of the OnMouseOver animation and did the stop there, correcting the problem.

Even tho nobody answered, you guys have always been helpfull, so I figured I should post the correction to what I did, and maybe help someone else with a similar question.

Thanks a bunch
