This will be refreshingly brief compared to my last post:
I am creating a Flash-based tutorial and one of the features I'm using is a slider bar for controlling the interval between "pages" (frames). It consists of a track (used as either a graphic or a movie clip, I can't remember which), a ball (used as a button with the startDrag code attached), and both of those make up the slider control movie clip.
Users will grab the handle (the ball) and slide it either to the right or to the left in order to adjust the interval. By default, the ball will be located in the middle of the track, so there is equal distance to either edge of the track.
Interval scripting aside, I want to be able to have the ball stay where it is after the user lets go of it. In other words, the movie clip retains the position of the button (which is what the ball is, library-wise) after the user adjusts it, no matter how many times he adjusts it. When he returns to the interval control, the ball will be where he left it last.
I thought I could create a variable to store the current x position in and reference that somehow, but after going through the ActionScript Help in Flash, I'm more confused than ever on how to approach this.
Again, thanks for your help in advance...
