Affecting a Parent

5
So after years of dabbling in goofy animations, I've decided merge my Flash habit with my Website business.

Here's the challenge: I have a .swf file inside a scrollpane. I want to create a button in the caged SWF that will effectively "link" to another SWF, loading it into the same scrollpane in the parent animation.

I realize the easiest way to do this would be to put my button into the parent animation, but that's proved an awkwardly unsightly endeavor, and quite simply, this would be so much cooler :-D

Is there a way to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

no quite sure what you're after but check the LocalConnection object. With this
you can communicate between two SWF movies, so perhaps order
onPress event on one swf to fire LoadMovie in another

cheers!

Thanks, blind. Like I said, though, this is brand new terrain. Could you be a bit more specific?
Thanks.
