making a new drop down list

I am making a new invoice excel sheet for my husband garage where he works on cars. I would like to perpare a drop down list of customer names that are for my husband shop. but at the same time be able to add a new (customer) person when they come in, whenever needed. How do I do this. I will need instructions of first how to create it; then how to add a new custmoter later.
