Container in Use Error when Restoring Offline Backup Image with Data Studio 3.1.1

What steps should I perform to restore my Offline Backup with Data Studio. I have created a new Database in Data Studio 3.1.1 but I want to have my backup data to be in there. I have research and found out that you can restore image using Data Studio using GUI(just right click the database and click restore). After I filled up the required data. most importantly the image details. This error message always prompting. " Failed to execute command. DAS returned the following error: sqlcode=-22220 output=SQL0294N The container is already in use. SQLSTATE=42730 "

What should I do to get rid of this error? or any suggestions to restore my Offline Backup?

by the way my DB2 version is 10.1.

Thank you very much.

Try to look for the container in the db2diag.log file and remove it. Than drop the database you have already created and then run the RESTORE command using CLP (Command Line Processor) on the machine where the database server is installed to restore the db. After that create a new connection to the db in DS.

Localization of the db2diag.log file you can find as a value of the DIAGPATH database configuration parameter,

What do you mean by 'I cannot connect in my database which is on Data Studio 3.1.1'? What is the error?

DS uses JDBC to connect to a database via TCP/IP. Maybe the instance is not configured properly to accept TCP/IP connection?
Can you connect to the database using local and remote CLP?

Sir Peter,

Actually I have created a new Database in my Data Studio 3.1.1 and I have connected in my JDBC Connection but the problem now is when I right click my Database(which is CSP) then click restore and backup -> Restore. After I have filled up the required fields it will have an error " Failed to execute command. DAS returned the following error: sqlcode=-22220 output=SQL0294N The container is already in use. SQLSTATE=42730 ". Could you help me?

The error message is as follows:

A RESTORE DATABASE command has found containers from a database that no longer exists but was not dropped properly.
It seems some containers have not been dropped properly in the environment and you would have to remove them. Before you do this make sure these containers do not belong to other databases first.
