DB2 v9.0 (Enterprise) vendor code

I am running a database under XP with DB2 Enterprise edition v9.0 (no longer supported).
The database is backed up and then an attempt to 'restore' it on a different machine. This fails with a SQL2071N error

The IBM site mentions

(quote)
If the user tries to restore a database from a backup image and transaction log files archived using a vendor library and later extracted to the disk, and if the vendor library cannot be initialized, then the restore will fail with SQL2071N, and the entire restore operation will be terminated.
(unquote)

It is clear that I need to temporarily disable the vendor code on the source pc before backing up -
However I don't know how to do this - no real 'IBM-innards'
ability I'm afraid - can anyone advise/help please?
