Question with Automatic client reroute HADR

Hi,

We would like to use Automatic client reroute to route applications in
case of primary failure in our HADR environment.

We have both Java applications and Non-Java applications (Our ETL
applications use IBM data server client to connect to the database).

Questions:

1) How can we configure ACR for Java and Non-Java applications?

2) Should the application(Java and Non-Java) be modified apart from
updating the alternate server definition on the database server? If so,
can you please give the procedure?

Thanks,

Hi,

ACR is a pure database feature rather than application specific. Just update the alternate server parameter and database will take care of rest. Suggest you do a testing and look for the things your self.

Once your primary is done and HADR is invoked the applications at primary will be terminated and pointed to the DR server.

Cheers, Vijay
