clustering index - will your table be arranged by the columns here?

Hi all,

I created a clustering index in a table which includes column DATE, BRANCH_CODE and ACCOUNT_NUMBER then ran the program I edited to populate the table.

When I did a SELECT * from the table the columns with the same BRANCH_CODE where not together but the ACCOUNT_NO is sequenced.

From what i understood by clustering index it will insert data in order of the columns.

I expected that those with the same branch code will be near each other then the accounts under that branch will be in order.

Will the order show in my query or it is only the order in the storage?

thanks
