Export DB2

Hello there,

I have access to a DB2 database through operation navigator. What I
would like to do is find a tool to export the database into create
table, insert into statements. Like what phpmyadmin does.

Is there a free tool for such a job?

Thanks

Take a look at recently released web based DB2 management console.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/db2mc/

There is also a command line tool - db2look that will recreate the DDL
for a database.

If you are loading the tables into another DB2 database, then all you need
is export to IXF format, and then import using replace_create option. This
will create the table upon import. However, the foreign keys will not be
re-created in the new table. If you use import, then the "COMMITCOUNT 1000"
keyword is recommended.

If you want to automatically move all the tables in the database, then
db2move command will automate the export and import for you.

No, what I want is only the table in a text file with insert into
statements.

Why isn't there a simple tool for that? I examined
http://sourceforge.net/projects/db2mc/ but it was rather obfuscated to
install the php_ibm_db2 extension!

Take a look at http://jailer.sourceforge.net/
The tool is mainly intended for exporting referentially intact row-
sets, but you can also export single tables by removing all
association definitions after db-introspection, then choose the table
you want to export as the subject-table and '1=1' as condition.
