load command

Jo
Hi.
Would appreciate your help with this.
Is doing a db2 load from a v9 client to a v8 server supported?
Thanks a lot.

Theoretically, yes - although I haven't managed to get it working myself
(I attempted a small LOAD CLIENT command from a v9 client on Linux to a v8
server on Windows, which just wound up hanging and had to be killed).
Given that trying to get DB2 clients working with different level servers
(sometimes even just differences in fixpak levels) usually involves a
certain amount of pain (and cryptic rebind commands) you'd be a lot better
off just transferring the data file to the server by some other method and
running the load directly on the server (and will probably be a bit
quicker than a remote load anyway).
Cheers,

Dave.
