VB6 fat client using Crystal Reports 10

P: 1
I'am currently upgrading a VB6 fat client using Crystal 8.5 to Crystal Reports 10. I need to setup a connection string to DB2 whereby I can supply the userid, PWD, package and datasource. This is not an ASP page, any info relating to DB2 connections would be helpful. Thanks

Hi,

you need to install the DB2 runtime client (see more information at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v8/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.db2.udb.doc/start/c0007217.htm ). After that, with DB2 tools catalog the target db (tell your client that the database is residing on a remote server) and create an ODBC entry via the windows control panel. The ODBC entry may be used by the VB script or any Window$ program.

Regards,

Bernd
